Wordstock, Portland’s annual festival of writers, books, and
storytelling, is pleased to announce the winners of the 2007 Wordstock
Short Fiction Competition.

This year's competition drew entrants from 18 states and three
countries. The winner was chosen from the 10 finalists by novelist and
memoirist Diana Abu-Jaber. "The
Creek," the winning story, appears in the December 2007 issue of
Portland Monthly magazine.
All 10 finalists’ stories have been collected in The Wordstock
Ten, an anthology published specifically for this competition.
