Wordstock is a nonprofit literary arts and education organization that celebrates and supports writing in the classroom and in the community. Our mission is to use the power of writing to effect positive change in people’s lives. To help facilitate this, Wordstock has a variety of workshops.
Festival Workshops
Wordstock for Writers
Wordstock for Writers workshops take place annually in conjunction with the Wordstock Festival. Geared for writers of all levels, these two days of workshops are designed to provide writers with hands-on strategies for improving their prose and poetry as well as a chance to work with some of the finest writers in the country. Other Workshops
Wordstock for Teachers
Geared for teachers of all grade levels, Wordstock for Teachers is a one-day accredited writing workshop designed to provide teachers with hands-on strategies for the classroom, as well as inspiration and tricks to improve their own writing. Teacher as Writer
The Teacher as Writer workshop focuses on the writing process, with teachers learning classroom strategies and writing stories of their own. The 40-hour intensive workshop is accredited through University of Oregon. For further information about Teacher as Writer workshop, click here.
Family Write Night
Led by Wordstock writers, Family Write Nights let students showcase their abilities and provide parents with valuable tips for helping their kids with writing. For further information about the Family Write Night workshop, click here.
Parents as Partners
Parents as Partners workshops help parents gain confidence in their ability to constructively coach their children in writing and support the development of their unique voices. For further information about the Parents as Partners workshop, click here.
Wordstock for Communities
Wordstock for Communities is a series of workshops on the craft of writing for practicing writers and community members.
