be an author

The 2012 festival will be Oct 11-14.

Wordstock is the Pacific Northwest’s premier venue for writers, books, and storytellers of all kinds. To date we’ve featured writers from virtually every state in the US, as well as from China, Wales, Iraq, New Zealand, Venezuela, Guatemala, Iran, Sierra Leone, Canada, France, and England.

Wordstock presents approximately 200 authors each year. We ask all of the authors we invite to the Festival to participate in a panel or conversation, a reading, or both. We do not feature authors for book signings only.

Be a Festival Author
Interested in presenting at one of our festivals? Here are some answers to questions you may have.

Who decides which authors are invited?
An Author Selection Committee comprised of publishing and book professionals considers the submissions and chooses authors to invite. We offer the bulk of our invitations between March 1 and July 31.

What types of books are considered?
While we are open to work from many genres and points of view, and have featured a wide variety of work and writers, we’ve found that the most dynamic festival readings and presentations come from books of a literary nature.

When should I submit a book for consideration?
We accept submissions of books throughout the year, but give preference to books submitted prior to June 1 in the same year as the Festival.

How can I submit my book for consideration?
Please mail a copy of a finished book/galley/ARC with your contact information (including email address) and an author biography to:
