For teachers who registered for credit through the University of Oregon:

Once a student is entered into the U of O Banner system, they will receive a letter from the UO Registrar's office with their UO ID# and a personal access code (PAC). Grades will be posted on December 11th, and at that time you can request a free transcript. Please go to the following U of O link that explains how to obtain transcripts:http://registrar.uoregon.edu/alum/transcript.htm.

Geared for teachers of all grade levels, Wordstock for Teachers is a two-day accredited writing workshop designed to provide teachers with hands-on strategies for the classroom as well as inspiration and tricks to improve their own writing. It will be held on Friday, November 9, and Saturday, November 10, 2007. (Attendees can take the workshop for either day or both days.)

There will be keynote speakers and 24 break-out workshops; each teacher will choose three age-specific sessions. Although this is a program that emphasizes the writing process, there will be sessions that focus on writing traits. Instructors will be best-selling authors and educational experts in writing instruction.

Wordstock for Teachers is based on the instructional program created by Community of Writers, a non-profit professional development program to improve writing instruction and achievement in the classroom.

Cost

One-day registration fee (no credit)..........$225
One-day registration fee (w/ 1 credit).......$285

Two-day registration fee (no credit)..........$400
Two-day registration fee (w/ 2 credits).....$520

Continuing Education credits will be granted through the University of Oregon. The CRN numbers and course numbers are:

CRN 16280 -- J 508 (graduate credit)
CRN 16279 -- J 408 (undergraduate credit)

Depending on the district, the fees can be covered by tuition reimbursement funds, professional development funds, licensed discretionary funds, or building budgets. Check with your individual district before you register. Enrollment is limited.


Documentation
  • The email confirmation you receive after registering online is your receipt of payment.
  • Registration forms to sign up for U of O Continuing Education credit will be available at the workshop.
  • A certificate of completion will also be available at the workshop.
  • Grades will be available online soon after the workshop (with instructions on how to access them).
