Two blogs are giving away copies of NW author Naseem Rakha’s novel, The Crying Tree.
Visit A Novel Menagerie and Bookgirl’s Nightstand for your chance to score a copy of this gripping debut before Wordstock. Better hurry–these giveaways go away September 18 & 15, respectively.
The Crying Tree was recently chosen as a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers pick for Fall 2009. Good choice, B&N! What struck me most about this book is how real the characters felt. They could have been my neighbors or relatives and I was with them the whole way as they discovered and coped with unimaginable loss and betrayal, and ultimately found forgiveness. I couldn’t put it down.
Hear Naseem Rakha discuss the book–and participate in the discussion–onĀ OPB’s Think Out Loud this Thursday, September 17 at 9am. PST.
We’re excited to have Rakha participating in two events at Wordstock. Come see her:
- Read on Saturday, October 10 at 4pm (Wieden + Kennedy stage)
- Discuss the process of writing and publishing the book in the My First Book panel on Sunday, October 11 at 3pm (Columbia Sportswear stage)
