Mark Jenkins, formerly the monthly columnist for Outside magazine, is currently the global correspondent for Rodale Press. Besides authoring three previous books, The Hard Way, To Timbuktu and Off the Map, Jenkins has been extensively featured in The Best American Travel Writing and has written for The Atlantic Monthly, The Washington Post, National Geographic, GQ, Playboy, Men's Health, and a score of other national and international publications. He has been interviewed about his adventures by CNN, PBS, BBC, NPR and Good Morning America. When not off exploring the planet, Jenkins lives in Laramie, Wyoming with his wife and two daughters.
