Jan Baross’s career in began with painting, careening into documentary filmmaking. Her Pioneer Women premiered on A&E. She taught filmmaking at OSU, wrote screenplays and worked as a newspaper film critic. Her plays were produced in New York, California, Northwest and Mexico. “Jose Builds a Woman”, her first novel garnered first place for fiction Kay Snow Awards and the Walden Fellowship. As a librettist her opera, Mata Hari, will be produced next year in Java.
