Bonnie and Diana Nyad have been best friends for 30 years now.
Their initial and continuing bond has been a high level of fitness, as
they both firmly believe it is by way of feeling strong and capable that
they can both cope and succeed in all other aspects of their lives. It is
from this philosophy that Bonnie and Diana, both now in their
mid-50’s, launched BravaBody.com. The BravaBody mantra is:
Let’s Make THIS the Prime of Our Lives!
DIANA NYAD
For ten years (from 1969 to 1979), Diana Nyad was the greatest long
distance swimmer in the world. In 1979, she stroked the longest swim in
history, making the 102.5 mile journey from the island of Bimini to Florida. Diana Nyad was inducted into
the National Women's Hall of Fame in 1986.
In the 1980's, Diana Nyad embarked upon an illustrious career in
television, radio, and print. She has served as the senior correspondent
for Fox Sports News, hosted her own show on CNBC, and announced numerous
premier sporting events for ABC Sports. In addition, Diana Nyad writes a
weekly column for National Public Radio.
Diana Nyad has written several books, and often contributes pieces
to the New York Times, Self magazine, and other publications. She is the
author of two books, Other Shores and Basic Training, and is currently
writing a series of children's books for inner city libraries on athletes
who overcame tough childhoods.
Over the past 20 years, Diana Nyad has earned a reputation as a
riveting speaker. She combines her talent for dramatic storytelling with a
natural sense of humor and a charismatic stage presence. Diana never uses
notes--she speaks from her heart and her audiences are left both
entertained and inspired.
Diana Nyad graduated Phi Beta Kappa from
Lake Forest
College, and speaks
four languages fluently.
BONNIE STROLL
When racquetball hit its peak of popularity, in the 1980’s, with
several million Americans playing in clubs all over the country, Bonnie
Stoll was considered the strongest and quickest woman on the professional
tour. Bonnie used her explosive athleticism to rise all the way to #3 in
the world.
With her degree in Health and Physical Education from the University of
Connecticut, Bonnie
taught high school on the East Coast and coached at the Olympic Training
Center until 1988. At that time, she transferred her skills to her own
personal training business in Los
Angeles, called Workout Results. Over the past 20
years, Bonnie has carved out a highly successful niche among personal
trainers, with a veritable “who’s who” list of
clients.
Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Winona Ryder, Marcia Cross, to name a few, have all turned to Bonnie for motivation and
fitness and body sculpting.
