David Axelrod is professor of English at Eastern Oregon University. His essays and poems have appeared in numerous journals and anthologies, including Kenyon Review, Cimmaron Review, Boulevard, and From Here We Speak: An Anthology of Oregon Poetry. Axelrod is the author of several poetry collections, most recently Cartographer's Melancholy (Eastern Washington University Press), which was a finalist for the 2006 Oregon Book Award in the poetry. He is also the author of a work of nonfiction, Troubled Intimacies (Oregon State University Press).
