Craig Thompson was born in Traverse City, Michigan in 1975 and raised outside a small farming community in Wisconsin.

He's well-known for three graphic novels: Good-bye, Chunky Rice, Blankets, and Carnet de Voyage. Blankets received numerous industry awards, including three Harveys, two Eisners, and two Ignatz awards.

He currently lives in Portland while working on his next book Habibi.
