Alison Clement was raised in South Carolina. She attended the same Catholic school in Savannah, Georgia as Flannery O'Connor. She now lives in western Oregon with her family. Her writing has appeared in The Sun, The Alaska Quarterly Review and High Country News. Her first novel Pretty Is As Pretty Does(MacAdam/Cage, 2001) was both a Barnes and Noble Discover Great New Writers and BookSense selection. Her second novel is Twenty Questions(Atria, 2006.)
