Willamette Week’s Give!Guide 2010 is up and running.  Donate now to help Wordstock reach our $5,000 goal and double your impact! Wordstock will match your gift with the gift of new books to public schools participating in The Right Brain Initiative.  We will match dollar for dollar, up to $5,000, in Powell’s Books gift cards.  Your gift will help Wordstock train and support teachers of writing, provide literary arts education to grades K-8, give kids 13 & under free admission to our annual book and literary festival – the largest of its kind in the northwest – and promote the power of writing to affect positive change in people’s lives.  Wordstock is listed in the Guide with arts organizations here.  Thank you for your support!

You know how much we love Live Wire, right? Lots and lots. Since the beginning of the festival, we’ve done a special “Wordstock Extravaganza!” show with them, and this year’s was phenomenal. It was so good, in fact, they made it into two shows and are broadcasting them over two weeks! They’ve posted the new podcast from the first show, which featured Jonathan Lethem and David Rakoff — and let us be the first to say that you owe it to yourself to listen!
